The co-op semester is completed and I am happy to see my classmates on campus again. I believe that it is very common that everyone wants to share their experience and express their feelings regarding the internships that they have completed. In this post, I want to discuss some positive feedback of my peers' co-op experiences.
I have a friend in my class Stephen Kim, who was working as Account Management Intern at Cossette. When I met him one week ago I was genuinely impressed by what he learned and accomplished in 3 months: "Interning at Cossette was an eye-opening experience into Advertising and I've learned a great amount on what it takes to survive and thrive in the industry". If you are interested in Stephen's experience at Cossette, please visit his blog.
Another great example is a very kind and friendly person - Roshni Rajan. She was doing her internship at MediaCom as a Data Analyst Intern. So, Roshni and I were working very closely and we executed all given tasks and projects together as a team. I am confident that she has gained a lot of experience and valuable knowledge from her co-op. I could see a huge progress in her interpersonal and technical skills starting from day one of our internships. I have already shared my personal observations about MediaCom culture and Business Insights & Analytics team in my previous post, but if you want to know more about MediaCom, please visit Roshni's blog as well.
My last example of the person who has successfully completed her co-op would be Daria Busalaeva. She is definitely an incredibly energetic person and passionate about what she is doing. Why? Because during 3 months of internship she had 25 flights across 3 different countries to get her work done. She was recruiting students from the Commonwealth of Independent States to study at Vancouver Film School. Personally, I have found all her stories about internship to be very exciting and fascinating. I would strongly recommend to visit Daria's blog and read more.
To conclude, I would say that 90% of my classmates are truly happy because of the value that they have received from their internships. A couple of my classmates got a job, a few interns earned good money, but the most important thing is that the majority of my classmates fortunately gained relevant work experience. As everyone knows, the number one priority for us (young professionals) is experience, because once we have that, money will follow.
